The near eye is meant to be blurry at distance so that it helps you read clearly up close. The idea behind monovision is that your dominant eye will be clear for seeing far and your non-dominant eye will be clear for seeing up close. If it has been 4 years and you are still having issues with adaptation, I would seek a consultation with your surgeon. If your eyes are thick and healthy enough, you may consider correcting the distance fully in the non-dominant eye also. You will need reading glasses immediately after this correction though.
