Can Differin and Tretinoin be used together?

I’ve been using tretinoin 0.05% for 3 months and I still have regular breakouts. I started using over the counter differin in the morning and tretinoin at night. Will this help reduce my breakouts?

Thank you for your question.Differin gel and tretinoin are both retinoids, which are meant to exfoliate the skin to remove comedones (whiteheads and blackheads). A common side effect of both is photosensitivity and can cause sunburns very easily if used during the day. If you are experiencing continued breakouts, then I highly recommend you consult with a board certified dermatologist to have your skin evaluated because a different treatment plan may be needed.
