Bumps on forehead - IPL laser? (photos)

Question

I was currently diagnosed with moderate Rosacea & I can't seem to get a smooth forehead. I am using finacea gel & going to start doxycycline. My dr mentioned IPL & I was wondering if this would smooth out my skin & get rid of the bumpy forehead? I have a consult for Botox but wondering if all I need is IPL laser. Any feedback is appreciated. I also attached photos below. Thank you

For the forehead, I recommend a combination approach with lasers, radiofrequency,  microneedling/prp, peels and skin care. For rosacea, I recommend using lasers (ProYellow, Pulsed Dye/Vbeam, Excel V) and botox to the cheeks. IPL is a great treatment for facial rejuvenation. It also works well for rosacea. For my patients with irregular texture I recommend resurfacing treatments such as peels and fractional lasers. Please consult with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!

IPL is great for treating the redness that goes with Rosacea, but it won't get rid of those bumps. From the pictures, it is hard to tell but they may simply be milia. Those can be extracted during a medical facial for a lot less $$ than any other treatment. I'd recommend starting there. We have a simple device called a Thermo-Lo that we can add on to any medical facial if milia are resistant to extractions. It is a low-level RF device and the cost is minimal compared to lasers. If there are some lumps remaining after the milia are removed, microneedling will be helpful as well.

Lastly-- get on a good skin care regimen for Rosacea. Often I can get my patients off of the prescription meds and keep the rosacea at bay. Find a physician who uses the Baumann Skin Type to assess your skin and can prescribe a medical grade regimen.
