It can take up to six months after an open rhinoplasty for the tip of the nose to feel normal. These means that all feeling has returned and it does not feel as stiff as it did right after surgery.

An open rhinoplasty involves making an incision across the columella, therefore numbness can be present there for an extended period of time.  In addition, and more importantly is what surgical techniques were performed in the columella.
