How Does IPL Work?

Thank you for your question. IPL is not the most effective treatment for hair removal. Other lasers such as the YAG or Alex will be more effective in reaching 80-90% hair reduction. Hairs generally grow in less dense and finer with each treatment. Maintenance is required for the desired outcome.  I would recommend a  consult and treatment under the supervision of a Board Certified Dermatologist or Plastic Surgeon for best results and safest treatment options.  I hope this helps!

Hi Jennifer.  IPL (and lasers for that matter) either eliminate hair or they don't.  These treatments cannot make your hair finer.  What they often do is eliminate the coarsest and darkest hair first leaving the finer and thinner hair behind.  

Trying to use it to thin the hair on your head would be a very bad idea as it would likely come out very uneven.  When having laser hair removal think of it in terms of having it all, or having very little (we removed 90-95% permanently).  Having just thinner hair is not what the process is designed for.  We are in Orange, CA if you would like to learn more in a free consultation.  

IPL and lasers may permanently reduce your hair, not make it finer.  Unless  you are prepared to lose hair permanently, do not have treatment with IPL or lasers.
