IPL can definately be used on hands and arms!
IPL is an acronym that stands for intense pulse light. The target for this light source is pigment, both the brown of freckles and the red of blood vessels. This treatment can be used with great effect in patients with the right skin tones. The more fair patient typically is a better candidate than a darker complected patient.
The brown age spots on the back of the hands and forearms respond beautifully to IPL treatments. Often times marked improvement can occur with only three treatments. IPL, or Fotofacial, is a no down time, no recovery procedure with impressive results. I encourage you to consult your board certified dermatologist to see if you are a candidate for this procedure.
