I have had two treatments of IPL facial rejuvenation. Both have gone well, with only minimal redness and swelling. However, I have read on this site and on others that IPL causes negative skin changes, such as a rapid increase in fine lines and wrinkles, changes in texture and a crepey appearance. These side-effects only occur a few months after the treatment. So, my question is: does IPL therapy cause the skin to age more rapidly, and if so, why?

Those prone to cold sores (herpes infections) can be treated with prescription oral antiviral medications prior to treatment and after treatment.

You likely did not undo the effects of the IPL treatment, but what you are describing sounds unusual for IPL - massive swelling and horrible bruising. I agree with other responses here too that you should not be taking random doses of prednisone that is lying around. The reaction on...
