IPL Burn or Bruise? Treated For Minimal Spider Veins and Hormonal Dark Spots.

Treated yesterday for minimal spider veins and hormonal dark spots. Today my eyes are swollen almost shut and have large silver dollar sized burns or bruises. Please advise. Would love to post pic but do not know how.

IPL for spider veins and brown spots

After IPL treatments, there may be mild swelling for a day and brown spots may darken and be crispy for a few days, but it is unusual to have your reactions.  You should return to your physician who performed the treatment for advice.  Meanwhile, use cold compresses every 2 hours, sleep with your head elevated to reduce the swelling, use a moisturizer to keep your skin moist, and avoid sun exposure.

Burns and swelling after IPL

These are not the expected reactions to an IPL treatment.  After an IPL treatment, one may expect some mild swelling and redness for several hours, but there should be no pain or bruising.

Please contact your treating physician or a board certified dermatologist for an evaluation immediately.
