I will be turning eighteen in two months. The most exciting part about that is my orthodontist said once I turn eighteen I will be accepted by more doctors for chin surgery. He said I'm one stage away from it affecting my health/chewing ability. I'm not quite sure what he means by that because I chew just fine. I'm looking into it more because I feel it makes me look masculine. My dad had to have his chin pulled back when he was young so it became less prominent, could my jaw also be a problem?

Your Chin Looks Fine
From looking at your photos, I believe your chin looks fine. Your orthodonist may be more worried about your bite and is thinking more of a mandibular procedure to improve your bite. If you are not having issues with your jaws, I would not have anything done. You should at least seek out another opinion.
