How long will lymph nodes be swollen after an augmentation? (Photo)

I am 18 days post op. 400cc hp mentor smooth round placed under the muscle with an inframmory incision. I was a 32a befoe. During my massageing, I noticed some tenderness near my underarms. I was feeling around in that area and noticed that I have one swollen lymph node under each arm. They do not hurt in general but are tender to the touch. Also when I get in the shower and the warm water hits that area, they tend to ache more. How long does it take for the swelling of the to go down?

It's very common to notice swollen lymph nodes after breast implant surgery. I have seen them last 4 to 6 weeks before they're no longer tender or palpable.

Please mention this to your plastic surgeon to confirm the diagnosis. Congratulations and best wishes,

Transitory swelling of the lymph nodes in the axilla can occur after breast augmentation surgery.  However I would expect the nodes to return to normal after 3-4 weeks.  Of course please bring this to the attention of your plastic surgeon at your post operative visit.
