Chalazion won't go away?
Doctor Answers 1
Thanks for your question and I'm sorry to hear you've been struggling with this chalazion. Chalazia are typically difficult to treat and often recur. Aside from hot compresses, the two treatment options are usually an injection of steroid or incision/drainage. With either treatment, the risks of recurrences or need for a re-treatment are relatively high. If you are noticing increasing pain, redness or discharge, there may be a superimposed infection which requires immediate attention.
I would seek a consultation with a skilled ophthalmologist or oculoplastic surgeon in your area.
Hope this helps, good luck!
