What happens if your vision changes after ICL surgery?

If my 23 y/o daughter has ICL surgery what happens a few years down the road if her vision changes does she need additional surgery or does she just get glasses?

Intrinsically, ICL surgery is a very stable procedure. A 23 year old young woman should expect a very stable result for decades to come.  Should she experience significant changes in her prescription as the years pass, the options for surgical enhancement would include:Exchanging the ICL. It is more likely that the changes will be so minimalIt will probably be safer and easier to perform LASIK or PRK.  As always non surgical options like glasses or contacts are always viable.

At 23, it is unlikely that your
daughter will have significant changes in her prescription over time.  However, if she were to following ICL
surgery, she would have several options.

Any changes would likely be small
and correctable with glasses and contacts.  Of course, people like your daughter have surgery to get rid
of glasses and contacts, and typically don’t like that option.  But it is an option.  Additional surgery with LASIK or PRK is
generally the best way to treat small amounts of refractive error following ICL
surgery should that occur.  In rare
cases, the ICL implant can be removed and replaced with an implant of a
different power.
