Juvederm and Breast Milk

You can double check with your pediatrician but there should be no restrictions after the day of injections.  Best, Dr. Green

Juvederm While Breast Feeding

Thank you for your question.  There has not been any official testing during pregnancy or during lactation of any of the hyaluronic acid fillers (#Juvederm, #Voluma, #Vobella, #Volift, #Restylane, #RestylaneLyft, #RestylaneSilk, or #Belotero).  As a result, physicians cannot make full recommendations based on scientific evidence.  In theory, the product should not be emitted into breast milk.  As a general rule, I wait to inject until patients are no longer nursing.

Please return to your dermatologist or plastic surgeon who injected you for their thoughts.

Best of luck,

Juvederm and Breast Feeding

I do not inject cosmetic fillers if a patient is pregnant, plans on becoming pregnant, or is not done breast feeding. I would consult with your injector for his/ her recommendation.

In my practice, I will hold off injecting patients with filler and Botox until they have finished breast feeding. There is no science behind this policy, but a personal decision for my practice.
