Considering exchanging Medpor cheek implants for Gore Tex. Which are safer? (photo)

I really see no reason to use Medpor facial implants. With that said your Medpor implants can be removed and replaced. Medpor is significantly more difficult to remove than silastic but this can be done. The implant you're referring to as a replacement is actually made of silastic or solid silicone material. In our practice, we only use Silastic cheek implants.  It is possible to remove the Medpor implants and replaced them with to Terino malar shells, which are Silastic not Gore-Tex. Your  New surgeon will need to make sure that they have  the previous operative reports to find out if the Medpor implants have been screwed in, and have the necessary tools to remove them.
