Eating well, increasing your water intake, getting on a regular skin care regimen with a medical aesthetician for medical facials is a good start. I would highly recommend starting on a Retin A and a good sunscreen. Later consider a mild resurfacing for pores, fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentations, and for a healthy glow. I like Scitons Halo laser.
Hope this helps.
Thank you for your question. Microneedling with PRP would be a great treatment to help address many issues you have stated and for total skin rejuvenation. You can also do laser, chemical peels, and the right skin care regimen at home. Prices vary so you will have to research in your area for pricing. Hope this helps. Dr Faraz
Thank you for asking about your skin.
- The skin is the largest organ in our body - treatment can be complex.
- Congratulations on getting away from acne, smoking and a poor diet.
- First improve your diet - with LOTS of fresh fruit and vegetables.
- Then see a cosmetic dermatologist or plastic surgeon.
- You will need a tretinoin (RetinA) based skin care program, surgical removal of the mole, and possibly additional skin treatments such as TCA peels, laser or microneedling.
- it will take a consultation and skin examination to develop your final plan.
Always see a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. Best wishes - Elizabeth Morgan MD PHD FACS
There are so many great options for skin rejuvenation including laser treatments, photofacials, microdermabrasion, Hydra Facials, microneedling, chemical peels, etc.At our practice I recommend a consultation with our licensed aesthetician who can listen to your concerns and prioritize your options based on the details shared in the conversation (downtime, price, etc.) Most treatments have very little discomfort and minimal downtime. Home care regimens uniquely tailored to your skin type and condition are very important. I recommend starting with a mineral based oil-free sunblock tinted moisturizer and anti-aging serum like Elizabeth Arden PRO Triple Protection Factor Broad Spectrum SPF 50. Drink lots of water and minimize inflammatory foods such as sugar, salt and caffeine and quit smoking. Whole foods or plant based diets are helpful, or a 'pegan' or 'paleo' based diet might be helpful. Lots of healthy exercise too!Hope this helps. Good luck.
The first step is to stop smoking and change your diet to one that is plant-based, whole foods. Also, make sure you get plenty of exercise. Otherwise, I think you would be wasting your money on cosmetic treatments.Medical micro-needling, when properly done and combined with effective skin care products such as human growth-factor serums, can give great results for glowing skin. Micro-needling works by stimulating the skin to trigger the release of growth factors to create more collagen and elastic fibers, resulting in thicker, healthier looking skin.
In my office we use the ProCell Therapies system which combines motorized micro-needling with concentrated human growth factor serums made from human stem cells. Our patients also use growth factor serums at home after their office treatment.
microneedling/PRP, skin care and peels help to make the skin smooth
and can treat scars too. Cost varies by region and practice, plus
what treatments you need. Please see an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
