Total healing time varies case by case.  These factor all contribute to a longer healing time and more prolonged swelling:

  1. Thick skin
  2. Multiple previous surgeries
  3. Use of multiple grafts

Everyone's healing after rhinoplasty is different depending the patient, the surgeon, the extent of surgery, and about 100 other variable factors.  In general, it takes 12 months to evaluate whether revision surgery should be performed, and about 15 years for the nose to completely be stable.  So in your case you are between 4% and 58% healed.  Good luck, be well, and enjoy your new nose.  And remember, 83% of statistics are made up at the time that they are quoted.

There's no set time to heal from Rhinoplasty however most primary Rhinoplasty surgeries are healed within 9 months, so you still have a couple of months to go.  Up to 18 months for Revision Rhinoplasty cases.

We typically tell patients that it takes a year to heal after rhinopasty surgery. However, this can vary tremendously depending on skin thickness and what was done during your operation. Talk to your surgeon who did the surgery and can more accurately answer your question after examining your nose.

Healing time for rhinoplasty

Healing time for rhinoplasty patients varries greatly. Most surgeons want to wait one year before considering any further surgery. The tip is probably the slowest to reach conclusion. The changes are minimal but real. In fact, the nose may continue to change over the years. this why conservative surgery is best.

Rhinoplasty Healing May Take More Than One Year

Healing post Rhinoplasty may take a year or more but certainly within 7 months post-op you should be almost there.  Appearance from this point forward depending on the thickness of your skin will change only slightly.  We tell our patients that when the numbness of the nasal  tip resolves.... they are then fairly close to seeing what their nose will ultimately look like.

About 60% of the way there.  You'll truly see your final result at 12 months.  Usually, around 6 months, is when your nose starts to feel natural again and not as stiff and firm as it did for the first few months.  The most challenging aspect for patient's .... is patience.  Continue to hang in there for another 5 months.  If at that time there are issues or concerns...they can be addressed at that time with your primary surgeon.  Good luck!
