As long as the area that you are Coolsculpting is different from the area that has lymphadema, you are OK to treat.  If in the same area, speak to your physician about alternative treatments.

Coolsculpting of abdomen with edema and lymphedema?

Coolsculpting works by freezing fatty tissue, which is more susceptible to damage than skin. So the skin survives its freezing, whereas the fat dells die and are removed by the body's natural healing process.

In the setting of tissues that are already edematous or swollen with lymphedema, the first question I would ask is why are these tissues swollen? Post-operative and not yet healed completely? Or some sort of medical condition? This will answer the question "Temporary or chronic?"

Freezing to reduce swelling that should naturally heal and reduce on its own is not advisable, as skin could die, creating quite a mess that time and patience could have avoided. This is NOT a good idea, even with more information. Best wishes! Dr. Tholen

The only way to determine if your lymphedema would be a contraindication for Coolsculpting is via an in person consultation.  Best, Dr. Green

I appreciate your question.
Coolscultping would not treat your underlying condition

The best way to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam.
