I have had it for well over a year and have had no pain until now. It is slightly tender. I am petrified to go back to the dentist. I had a hip replacement 9 months ago and need another for the other hip. Also, I need premed now for any dental work.

Hello! I think you have a possible infection from how I see from the photo. Possible periimplantitis. Go back to your doctor and check for it and also you can do an X-ray to check for bone retraction or infection.

Anastrozole has side effect of osteoporosis and osteopenia so it does affect the quality of bone in the jaw as well the healing process of the bone around the implant, so dental implant won’t be recommended in this case.
