How long will it take for excess body hair to go away after I stop using Minoxidil?

I am a 31 year old women. My doctor recommended minoxidil as I had suffered diffuse hair loss. after 6-8 weeks of using minoxidil I noticed a rapid growth in facial hair, forhead, upper lip & jawline and excess hair on my arms, forearms, back of hands & knuckles, legs as well as hair on my back. I've never been a hairy person so it is quite distressing. I'm growing hair in places I've never had hair before. The hair is darker and long. I have stopped using minoxidil for 2 weeks now.

For some patients in can take up to 6-9 months to see a return to more normal growth patterns and excess hair to dissappear. Because you have only used it a very short time, the exces hair wil likely disappear within 3-4 months.

Minoxidil will get out of your blood stream within 10 days or less after stopping it. The hairs that grew from the drug are dependent upon it so when you stop it, you can expect the body hairs that appeared to go away in a couple of months or less
