Naval piercing scarring?
Hello! I am a 19 year old girl who would like to get a navel piercing; however, I have read that these piercings can potentially lead to scarring. If I were to get one and only leave it in for a couple of years, would there still be scarring? I have read that scarring only occurs on people who have had their navel pierced for more than about 5 years or on people who fail to take their navel piercings out at least two years before becoming pregnant. Any advice?

Naval piercings can be corrected with application of Plato's Scar Serum and surgical scar correction.
All patients with navel piercings will have a scar or "puncture site" after the procedure. The scar is permanent.
It is likely that after years of wearing a navel ring, scar tissue will form and leave a permanent scar from the piercing. This scarring can be surgically removed. Please seek an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
