Does this look like skin cancer? Or just a sore went on a cruise last week & on one of the last days I noticed this. (photo)

hello ! my names Frank. which to my mom, appears to be a rug burn or something like that. this spot was not here Thursday and popped up Friday so I don't know if that's a good thing or not. I am worried it might be skin cancer of some type. this might just be me worrying to much but I can't help it. I'm only 17 and I used tons of sunblock and reapplied the whole trip. the spot is very little sore to touch but does not itch or bleed at all. my mom wants to wait a little longer to see if it heals
