Very common question. Restylane and Silk are the exact same molecular substance. The difference is the "Molecule Size", specifically, during production Silk is pushed through a smaller filter than is Restylane, yielding a smaller particle dimension than that found in Restylane. The smaller the particle size, the more superficial (closer to the skin surface) it is designed to be used. Also, the smaller the particle, the less longevity it displays.Dermal fillers have significant similarities and differences. It can be quite confusing. More importantly than which substance or brand name you desire, locate a plastic surgeon or dermatologist with substantial experience in treating your areas of concern. Once your doctor understands what you're after, he/she will recommend the best product to get you the results you want to achieve.Best of luck!
Restylane silk is a smaller size and can be used for tiny lines such as around the mouth and under the eyes. However, it lasts half as long as traditional Restylane. Best, Dr. Green
Restylane and Restylane Silk are both composed of a hyaluronic acid-based formula, which is a substance naturally produced by the body. Restylane Silk provides a smoother and smaller molecule size, which allows for subtle lip enhancement and the smoothing of fine wrinkles and lines around the mouth.
Restylane silk and restylane are the same in all parameters except for molecule size, which is much smaller in silk. This allows it to be used in more superficial areas giving a smooth result.
Restylane silk is a smaller particle size product allowing to fill fine lines. Best of luck with your decision to move forward.
