Thick skin Rhinoplasty, realistic goals? (Photos)

Dear doctors I am a healthy 27 years old male with no prior surgeries done. I have a typical middle eastern nose that shows up as a convexity on my profile, tip that droops with smiling, septum deviation with the septal tip protruding to the right. I contacted a Dr that told me he doesn't want to operate because I have thick skin. We didn't talk about my expectations, he just saw my pictures. My question is: A straight septum and slightly lifted tip realistic/achievable? Thank you.

Realistic goals

Having a realistic goal is very important in rhinoplasty and I believe you have a very achievable realistic expectation. An open septorhinoplasty with dorsal hump reduction and tip rotation should achieve your goals. The thickness of one's skin does play a role but should not make a significant difference in what you would like to achieve. I would recommend seeking a second opinion from a board certified plastic surgeon.

You are a good candidate for a dorsal reduction and tip rotation surgery.  Your skin thickness should not impair the results significantly.

Rhinoplasty Considerations

Your expectations and goals for a straight, masculine and functional nose seem appropriate and achievable via an open Septorhinoplasty with cartilage grafts. Seek another opinion from a trusted and experienced Facial Plastic Surgeon. Your skin and soft tissue envelope seems rather typical for your age, gender and ethnicity. I am confident that you can find a highly qualified surgeon to help you achieve your goals. Best wishes.

Thank you for your question. You should consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon. The in-person examination will be the best barometer to determine your candidacy for a Rhinoplasty. Changes to the nose can be both dramatic and subtle; but no matter what, changing your nose will improve your overall look. Your nose must fit with your overall facial features, facial shape and ethnic background.
