24 year-old male diagnosed with low testosterone - should I take 5mg Finasteride?

Hi I’m a 24 year old male I have a thick head of hair but I asked my doctor for finasteride to keep my hair. My doctor prescribed me 5mg and I was also dignosed With low testosterone. I just have two questions if you guys don’t mind answering thanks. Should i take 2.5 mg once a week by cutting the pill is that enough or should I take more? Also I do some days feel like I have less erctile function like less sensation in that area. Am I fine or should I be concerned ? Thanks

First, finasteride is not an option for men with a thick head of hair. It’s an option for males with aggressive balding. If a male does not have AGA, they should not be on finasteride to prevent AGA. That’s where problems arise time and time again. Second, I need to know how low your testosterone is. I need to know your bioavailable testosterone. Many males who tell me they have low T, don’t have low T. But be sure to see an endocrinologist if you do. One needs to understand why that is. If you are having side effects on finasteride, you need to speak to your doctors. That dose probably won’t help much. However you have many options if you do have AGA including topical finasteride, topical minoxidil and oral minoxidil.
