What does it mean when someone says that the fraxel laser can do the entire face without lines of demarcation?

mean? is fraxel the very best laser out there if someone wants to remove sunburn from the facial area or are there other lasers that are just as good if not better than the fraxel laser? what makes fraxel unique and distinctive from other lasers for removing sunburn from the facial area? what other treatments are there to remove sunburn from the facial area? can someone please tell me. thank you.

What does it mean when someone says that the fraxel laser can do the entire face without lines of demarcation?

Thanks for your query. Fraxel works on the principle of "fractional photothermolysis", a technology in which thousands of microscopic laser columns - each just one-tenth the diameter of a hair follicle - treat a fraction of the skin at a time without affecting the surrounding tissue. These laser columns stimulate the production of younger, smoother, healthier skin to replace damaged tissue, by stimulating collagen formation. Apart from that you can try chemical peels. They also work exceptionally well in treating sunburn and fine lines. Hope it helps.

Facial Aging -- Treatment With Lasers Like Fraxel, Radiofrequency Like Viva/Intensif, Combined with Microneedling/PRP

This means that fraxel laser treatment is subtle and won't leave a definitive line showing treatment area. Sun damage can be treated with chemical peels, fractional lasers and topical bleaching/lightening creams.  Spot treatments can be done by a variety of chemical and laser devices (Q switched lasers, Excel V, fractional ablative/nonablative). Fraxel without line of demarcation

This means that you can't see where the laser treated and didn't treat very easily. Using multiple passes, the lines treated get blurred and you don't see them. So spot treating around the eyes, or a scar can be done without it being obvious. Also, treating the face won't leave a line along the jawline that other lasers used to show. Rarely, CO2 lasers can show a line of demarcation. It doesn't treat sunburns, but will treat sun damage.

Fraxel laser....

Thank you for your question.  Lasers are not used to treat sunburn.  Fraxel laser can be used to treat sunspots, fine lines, wrinkles, pores, precancerous lesions, etc.  Fraxel treats the entire face with multiple passes so there are no lines where you can see where one area is treated and then another area is treated.   By treating all areas in a continual rolling fashion there will be no lines of demarcation.  Please be evaluated and managed by an expert board certified Dermatologist.  Regards, Dr. Matt Elias

Fraxel without lines of Demarcation

Fraxel is a wonderful way to treat the aging or sun damaged skin.  There are no lines of demarcation which means that the entire surface of the skin is treated since you go over the same areas with 8 passes.  Please consult an expert in Fraxel for the best cosmetic results.  Best, Dr. Green
