I appreciate your question.
The dead cells are broken down and removed

The best way to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam.

Fat cells and Coolsculpting

Coolsculpting is an amazing procedure in eliminating a bulge by 25% in an hour without any down time.  The fat cells are destroyed and slowly metabolized and excreted by the body.  These fat cells do not re-appear in other place in the body.

Fat cells once destroyed will be slowly dissolved, very similar to how your body slowly dissolves a bruise. There is no need to worry about the fat cells re-appearing in other places of your body.

Think about it this way.... there are fat cells all over you body.  When you gain weight, if you see that happening in one area (like abdomen, hips, etc), that means that you have more fat cells there.  With Coolsculpting, you can decrease the number of fat cells in the area that you were born with more.  When you gain weight after Coolsculpting, it will distribute more evenly over your body and you won't feel like it is going straight to your hips or wherever.

Coolsculpting - where does the fat go?

Thanks for your question. The fat cells that are treated and respond to treatment are permanently removed. This does not cause fat to grow in other areas of the body. If you gain weight, then the remaining fat cells can grow larger to accommodate the weight gain. But the fat does not go into other places in the body.

Where does fat go after fat cells are removed?

When fat cells are removed new fat cells are not normally formed. By adolescence all of the fat cells that you will have for the rest of your life have been formed. As you gain and lose weight the cells increase or decrease in size. After fat cells have been removed it is very unusual to experience new areas of fat deposition in different parts of the body. For that to occur a person would need to gain a great deal of weight.

Fat cells do not move to other parts of the body

Hi Gigi Fawzi. The Coolsculpted/treated fat cells are eliminated by your body entirely. If you gain weight, the remaining fat cells become larger and the treated area is somewhat resistant to expansion. If you gain lots of weight and approach morbid obesity, the number of fat cells do multiply. But no, the treated fat cells do not go to another part of your body. Be sure to have a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon when seeking Coolsculpting so they can put your mind to ease. Good luck!
