More Effective to Do a SmartXide Treatment Without Anesthesia?

I just had a smart xide dot treatment, and my phisician told me that no anethesia was necessary, for me it was extremely painful and i would like to know if is true that you obtain better results by having the procedure performed like this.

Most Smartxide fractional co2 laser treatments are performed safely with local anesthetic, applied both topically and with injection.  I use the fractional co2 laser in my Santa Monica office and have achieved outstanding results with local anesthetic.
