How Effective Will a Chin Implant Be for Me? (photo)

I'm 18 (male) & have a recessed chin. Never noticed until now because I never looked at my face in profile too often until someone joked about my weak chin recently. Ignorance was bliss. Now I can't stop thinking about how bad it looks! I don't want to post a real picture but there is a artist rendering that my gf made. So I was wondering, will a chin implant be effective? Or is it not that simple? I know its difficult w/o an actual picture, but I look forward to your input, thank you.

Profile improvement with chin augmentation

Of the procedures available to advance a recessed chin, chin implantation is perhaps the most straightforward.  While it's hard to give a definitive recommendation with the animation, it is likely that a chin implant could provide you with a nice result.

Chin implant

In general, a chin implant can greatly enhance the appearance of the profile. Photos and/or an exam would be necessary to give you the best advice. I would recommend a consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon. They may use computer imaging software to morph a photo of you and give you an idea of how the final result of surgery may appear. I hope this helps, and best of luck.

Chin implant

Of course, an in-person exam is needed to ascertain how the implant would look in you.  Do photo imaging so you can get an idea.  A chin implant can be safely placed without any external scars.  Seek out a board-certified Facial Plastic Surgeon to do your surgery.  Best wishes.

How Effective Will a Chin Implant Be for Me?

Obviously no surgeon is going to comment on what a chin implant will look like without a photo. It is a safe and very satisfying procedure on patients who ned it.

Chin Implant

A chin implant is  safe and an effective procedure.  It is also reversible, if you decide that you do not like the results.  it is difficult to say if this is right for you without photos.

Chin implant effectiveness

thank you for your question

in general chin implantation, when performed by experienced hands, can give great results for patients. Some patients are better candidates for genioplasty but many patients are great candidates for chin implants. That being said the chin implants need to be carefully selected and customized to each patient. Some physicians have a habit of using the same implant on every person and that's simply not effective.

I'll attach a video with a little more information

best of luck
