When breast implants leak, does the liquid come through your skin?

Hello,Thank you for your question. I recommend that you have a general health exam with your primary care physician to discuss issues you are having as saline leaked into the body would be absorbed by the body, not leave through the skin.All the best

Thanks for your question. When implants leak the liquid is absorbed by the body and does not leak through the skin. I suggest you see a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and for a medical evaluation. 

Saline should not come through the skin, not sure what's causing the wet spots other than breast skin rubbing against your chest if they are deflating. An an exam and consultation with a plastic surgeon is recommended.

Hi & thank you for your question. If your implant is leaking it will not leak through your skin. If you notice that your breast or breasts are losing volume it is  likely that you  have a  deflation, I suggest having your plastic surgeon take a look to be sure.Best of luck.

A saline implant leak would cause the saline to be absorbed in the body, not permeate through the skin. 

No, if you are experiencing a saline breast implant leak, the saline will not leak onto the skin. Generally, if a breast implant leaks patients will notice breast asymmetry, decreased breast size, as well as increase breast implant rippling/palpability. I hope this helps.

If ten year old saline implants "leak", it will not come through the skin.  However, you will notice that the "leaking" or deflated implant looks like a flat tire.  The volume loss will be obvious.  If the implant does deflate, you will need to see your surgeon for replacement.
