I had rhinoplasty surgery 2 weeks ago on the 28th August. When can I start light exercise?

Thank you for your question.  I allow my patients to resume all activities 8-10 days following rhinoplasty except any activities which may result in injury to the nose such as contact sports.  The nasal bones will be fragile for 6-8 weeks.  Best of luck!

Check with your surgeon first but you are probably fine to start light activity at this point. Wait for weeks before hitting the gym or doing anything aggressive.

You can likely start returning to normal activity at around the two-week mark.  However, listen to your nose.  If it starts to hurt/swell/bleed then stop doing what you were doing.  And of course, before restarting a vigorous exercise program, I would talk with your rhinoplasty surgeon.

You can start light excercise like walking at this stage.  I would recommend waiting a full 4 weeks before any aggressive work outs.  Best wishes, Dr T.

I allow patients to go back to light exercise within about 3-4 weeks. You should ask your surgeon his preference.

Recovering from rhinoplasty and exercise

Recovering from rhinoplasty is a healing process. Part of that process is avoiding strenuous activity including exercise. I am a conservative surgeon. I ask my patients to hold off on exercise beyond walking for 6 weeks. I encourage my patients to walk right away. I would check with your surgeon for their specific guidelines for a safe and happy outcomes. Safety comes first.

Thank you very much for enquire. It's too early to make value judgments with 2 weeks after a rhinoplasty.
Swelling after a rhinoplasty depends of the surgery complexity.
In this regard, the nasal swelling Post-op It can last from two weeks to two months.
To reduce this swelling, I recommend you perform delicates daily lymphatic drainage massage therapy over the face (around the nose) avoid sun exposure, and take pain/inflamation pills, as your surgeron precribe you.
Kind regards,

this shouldn't really be a problem at this time. But depending on what are you planning to do an how involved your surgery was, I would just double check with your plastic surgeon.
