Looking into DNA device for TMJ, but I have a chin implant. Will it make my chin too projected?

I have bad TMJ and a gummy smile, as well as forward head position and i'm reading that the DNA device may help. But in reading about it, I'm seeing it also helps correct a recessed chin. I feel silly for getting a chin implant when this device was out there that could also help my tmj and gummy smile, I just didn't know about. my question is, if I get the DNA device with a chin implant, will it make my chin look too projected?

This is an excellent question. First of all, the DNA appliance may or may not cause your lower jaw to move forward. The mRNA appliance, which is an upper DNA with a lower DNA used in tandem to reposition a lower jaw forward, will definitely move your jaw forward and MIGHT make your chin look too projected. However, moving your lower jaw forward is more than likely what you will need to do in order to successfully treat your TMD. I have treated patients with chin implants successfully using the mRNA to treat TMD and reposition the lower jaw forward without making the chin look too projected.

Epigenetic Orthopedics with DNA Appliance may have been the best choice initially.

That said you can correct underlying issues and improve your airway and chin implants can be removed.

This will improve your airway and offer other physiologic improvements.
