Alar scars can be white and visible. Hidef protocols can help with visible alar scars on the face. I see a lot of these in my office in Beverly Hills. Surgery is often not needed if lasers and HIDEF scar revision techniques are introduced. In our office, we combine treatments starting with topical pre-conditioning of the scars with Plato's Scar Serum for hypertrophy and Melarase PM for pigmentation. Fractional RF, laser, and micro fractional RF can help limit scar growth. Kenalog IIT can also help reduce scar thickness. For lip lift scars specifically, I use selective Hyfrecation to reduce scarring. Best, Dr. KaramanoukianRealself100 Surgeon

Dermabrasion can work very well for raised or flat scars. Dermabrasion results are much more limited for depressed scars or "gaps" in previous skin closures (which is the case with your nostrils). Very doubtful the scars depicted in your photo will benefit from dermabrasion. But if you really want to try go ahead. From MIAMI Dr. B
Our office has many different treatments for scars depending on the depth of atrophy or hypertrophy. Scars require a combination approach using our HI DEF protocol which uses a combination of lasers, topical scar modulation, and RF treatments to pixelate scars, improve contour, reduce...
Scabs get pulled off and cause scar tissue; the use of a moist gauze to cover these areas seem to enhance healing. We avoid the scab formation, and the scars all seem to be reduced, and the pigment seems to be preserved.
Admittedly, there is no one perfect treatment for enlarged pores, which is believed to be a inherited (family predisposition) trait. I have been disappointed with the results I have seen from a series of superficial chemical peels, microdermabrasion, fraxel lasers, and even after true...
Dermabrasion is generally not advised for burn scars due to lack of adnexal structures which can compromise healing after the dermabrasion. If performed, it must be done cautiously. It also may need to be repeated. Do not expect dramatic results.
