Alar scars can be white and visible. Hidef protocols can help with visible alar scars on the face. I see a lot of these in my office in Beverly Hills. Surgery is often not needed if lasers and HIDEF scar revision techniques are introduced. In our office, we combine treatments starting with topical pre-conditioning of the scars with Plato's Scar Serum for hypertrophy and Melarase PM for pigmentation. Fractional RF, laser, and micro fractional RF can help limit scar growth. Kenalog IIT can also help reduce scar thickness. For lip lift scars specifically, I use selective Hyfrecation to reduce scarring. Best, Dr. KaramanoukianRealself100 Surgeon
Some practitioners beleive that dermabrasion may benefit scars especially when performed 6-8 weeks after the intial surgical procedure. This is somewhat controversial.
Dermabrasion can work very well for raised or flat scars. Dermabrasion results are much more limited for depressed scars or "gaps" in previous skin closures (which is the case with your nostrils). Based on the pics... I would advise re-excision the with more careful closure. Hope that is helpful. All the best, Dr. Vartanian.
Very doubtful the scars depicted in your photo will benefit from dermabrasion. But if you really want to try go ahead. From MIAMI Dr. B
