I would need to actually examine your scalp up close and known all the specific details of your story to answer with anything more than some generalizations. However, they are important generalizations: 1) minoxidil helps 20-30% of men 2) finasteride can stop or regrow hair in 90 % of men 3) It takes 9-12 months to see results. 4) One would not even begin to evaluate at day 50 5) Normal shedding differs for different people. Generally anything under 50-60 hairs is usually normal.

It really takes a good 11-12 months on hair therapy to see results, so it is too early to tell if your treatment plan is working. Your description of shedding 20-50 hairs per day is well within the normal limits of daily hair shedding.  If you are concerned, a full evaluation by a hair loss specialist is advised.
