Which procedure quantitatively provides a better lift in the brow area?
Answer: Sofwave vs Botox for Brow Lift Thanks for your question. Botox injection placed into the muscles which depress (pull down on) the brow can produce a temporary lift which lasts a few months in most instances, although if you simultaneously treat the forehead muscle you may undo that effect. This is because the frontalis muscle of the forehead is the only muscle lifting the brows. Therefore relaxing the frontalis muscle to smooth the lines there can have the opposite effect of lowering the brows. Sofwave utilized micro-focused ultrasound energy to deliver heat to the deeper layers of the skin, restoring lost collagen and elastin. During the body's response to treatment, a tightening and smoothing effect is acieved. In the upper face this will not only lift the brows but also smooth forehead lines, lines around the eyes, and tighten the skin under the brow as well. This new collagen would be very long lasting (years) and thus produce a lifting effect which would far outlast that of any Botox. In 2021 Sofwave achieved FDA clearance for lifting not only the brows but also loose skin in the chin and neck regions. FDA clearance means they had to prove to the FDA with clinical studies that it worked effectively for these indications. In my medical spa we have had excellent results with Sofwave and it is a very safe procedure as well. You do need to give it at least 12 weeks for the effect to develop, so it is not instant gratification. I hope that helps!

Answer: Botox Has An Over Thirty Year Track Record For Achieving Nonsurgical Chemical Browlifts Let me put it this way. All kinds of faddish, flashy-named, heavily social media and marketing hyped, expensive laser, RF, and ultrasound "bells and whistles" gizmos have come and gone during the over three decades that Botox has been around. Botox, which I have been personally using since 1991, has been successfully used to create nonsurgical chemical browlifts for much of that time. So, I ask you. Given the choice of a device that is likely to be history as soon as the supposedly "next big thing" to come along replaces it or Botox, which has the proven track record, what do you think is the more logical approach. You would be wise to consult with an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist. And, one additional piece of advice. Don't go into any consultation asking for some trendy treatment because, to your later disappointment and frustration, you are likely to get what you ask for. Hope this helps and best of luck.
