Should I have red raw skin after laser hair removal?

It sounds like you experienced some micro crusting (or superficial scabbing) from the treatment. By exfoliating the area, it may have caused some additional irritation; potentially a mild case of folliculitis which appears like pink itchy spots. This should subside within a few days if it hasn't already. You may want to apply an over the counter steroid such as cortisone to help relieve the discomfort. If your symptoms persist, a topical antibiotic may need to be prescribed by your provider.
In the case of micro crusting, it would have been better to apply an occlusive ointment such as Aquaphor to allow the scabbing to heal properly. You may experience some skin discoloration, but this should hopefully be temporary.
