What is this pigmentation after mole removal? (Photos)

I had several moles removed about 10 years ago and at the time, none of them were cancerous. The moles never came back and the scars faded, but as time has passed, there appears to be tiny light brown spots where the moles once were. I wanted to find out what these are because they don't look like normal sun or age spots and if I this is common?

Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation

This type of pigmentation occurs after any trauma/treatment.  Please use lightening creams, relaxation and sun protection.  Peels may sometimes help.  Best, Dr. Emer.
