About Gynecomastia Surgery Techniques and the Costs

There are three types of surgical treatment options available that treat gynecomastia. The doctor will recommend the one that is best suited to each individual case. The excision technique is used on cases of #gynecomastia where excess skin and glandular breast tissue must be removed and the areola or nipple needs reduction and repositioning to create a natural looking appearance. The incision patterns are determined by the specific condition of the patient. The doctor will recommend this procedure which combines the liposuction technique and excision technique to create a natural look. Patients are given specific instructions for the recovery period.

Men who suffer from large #areolas may notice that after breast surgery, the skin of the chest muscles will tighten, causing the areolas to tighten and diminish in size. This is a result of the removal of glandular and/or adipose tissue.

#Surgery quotes should include the procedure itself, operating room facilities, anesthesia fees, surgeon’s fees, medical tests, post-surgery garments, prescription medication and other related costs. Most plastic surgery offices offer convenient finance plans that allow patients to pay a low monthly payment. Costs will also vary with geographic location. Estimated costs can be found here on, or

Lastly, it is crucial you select a plastic surgeon who is #board-certified and has a great deal of experience with male breast #reduction. Plastic surgeons who have specialized in breast surgery and cosmetic surgery are suitable to perform your procedure. Aside from checking board-certification, it is suggested that you look at before and after photos of the surgeons actual patients, and read patient reviews. Gathering all of this information will help you make a well-informed decision.

Your options

I know of no FDA approved non surgical/non invasive treatment for gynecomastia. If you are seeking non surgical options for mild gynecomastia, I think that Vanquish which uses RF energy, or UltraShape that uses ultrasound rather than Cool Sculpt would be the best option though all are off FDA usage. Surgery is the best option for the vast majority of patients with gynecomastia.

Gynecomastia surgery is required

Male breast is called gynecomastia.  A combination of liposuction and breast tissue excision is required to treat it.  You should seek a consulation with a qualified plastic surgeon.

The term for this is gynecomastia. There are some things that can cause it. Pot smoking, for one. Start with your primary care doctor. If everything checks out, including the testicular exam, then go to a board certified plastic surgeon. Your doctor can help you find one.

Surgical treatment for gynecomastia

The treatment for most cases of gynecomastia is surgical.  This can be done with either liposuction or a subcutaneous mastectomy or a combination of the two.

How should I choose a surgeon? Choose carefully.
The decision is yours. Advice to assist in making your selection.Only a board certified plastic surgeon 1. Experience matters. Choosing a surgeon increases the likelihood that they have seen a case similar to yours in the past. Selecting a surgeon whose practice is focused on gynecomastia exclusively is also an indicator of experience. 2. Results matter. The more before-and-after pictures, the better. Pay attention whether the surgeon is confident enough to show multiple angles of the same patient. 3.Only gynecomastia Reviews matter. 4. Expertise matters. Is your surgeon recognized by the profession as an authority in the field? Have they authored books or medical journal articles regarding your surgery? Be realistic about your expectations. Also, revision surgery tends to be significantly more difficult than initial surgery.

Without examining you it is difficult to give specific advice but there are many great surgical and nonsurgical options for male breasts depending on what exactly is causing them. The only way to know what would be best is to book a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon near you to see what your options are. Best of luck!

Thank you for your question but an examination and work up is needed so see an endocrinologist/internist to check your hormone status and then be referred to a plastic surgeon if surgery is necessary

Increase in the breast size. Male. How to cure it?

Thank you for the question but nothing will replace in-person evaluation. I will do just that you start your evaluation with your primary care physician. A complete history and physical examination will be the place to start. Then, depending on your diagnosis, treatment options can be reviewed.

If you are dealing with gynecomastia, and it remains a persistent concern, then consultation with board-certified plastic surgeons will be indicated. You may find the attached link, helpful in this regard, Best wishes.
