Hello, If your breast implants were placed under the muscle, temporary muscle spasms can occur. A muscle relaxant, like Valium, can give relief from the symptoms. Once the muscle can tolerate the stretch caused by the implant it will stop going into spasm. Be patient and speak to your surgeon about medication options. Good luck, Dr. Shah
I always give my patients a muscle relaxant for the first week or two. Some is a good one. Fleceril is stronger and can make you very sleepy. In time the muscles will relax and it won't be a problem. You did not say how long ago your surgery was, but it may take as long as 6-8 weeks for this problem to resolve. Be patient.
I also routinely give my breast augmentation patients a muscle relaxant for the first 7-10 days post-op. I also give Celebrex for this period which I also feel decreases the pain medication requirements and the complaints referable to the muscle spasms. I give each of these pre-op as well with the pre-op antibiotic.
I always give my breast augmentation patients a prescription for Robson. Robaxin is a muscle relaxant. This medication is very helpful in treating the muscle spasms and pain that is associated with submuscular (subpectoral ) breast enhancement surgery. Richard L. Deflation is usually painless but pressure points from the deflated bag or positioning can possibly cause pressure against a sensory nerve. it is not serious or an emergency but i would wait very long for replacement as the surgery is easiest sooner than later
I prefer and always have preferred General Anesthesia as the safest and most reliable way to achieve patient's comfort during Breast Augmentation. In the hands of a Professional Anesthesia Provider- safety and efficiency are more reliable.
If you have a petite frame I would not suggest an implant volume greater than 400cc as you may look disproportionate and have more complications in the future. I would visit with your plastic surgeons again and see if you can review some smaller sized implants; perhaps you can try them on in a...
As long as you don't touch your incisions, it should be fine. However, please note that creams have not been proven really that effective in eradicating stretchmarks, but you can certainly try.
Thank you for your question and for sharing your photos. At five months, it there is a chance that the implants may not settle much more. Keep a close follow-up with your surgeon. If they continue in their current position, you may consider releasing the lower pocket of the breast...
