I had my nose hump rasped followed by resection of cartilagenous hump 5 days ago. How long will it take to recover?

My doctor said it was a simple closed process under anaesthesia. I had no pain. When can I go to work and start doing normal daily activities?

Congratulations on completing your rhinoplasty procedure.  A rhinoplasty really does take a whole year of recovery in order to see the final result.  This time is shorter for just a hump reduction.  As for resuming your daily activities, it is best to check with your surgeon.

Recovery following rhinoplasty is typically about 1-2 weeks. There may be soreness or bruising that lingers for a little longer. Most patients are able to return to their regular activities in 2 weeks.  Always check with your rhinoplasty surgeon for details on how and when you should proceed. Best regards.

Recovery after closed rhinoplasty

Hello.  Generally, one should wait for two weeks before resuming strenuous activities.  You should do light activities in meantime (ie walk around, short trips to grocery are fine, etc), but should avoid lifting more than 20 pounds, running, etc for two weeks.  You can return to work after a few days, but most patients aren't eager to return to work with a cast on, which typically is removed a week out.  Many patients will return to work once the cast is off (as long as their job doesn't entail strenuous activities).  Take care.

Thank you for your question. After a rhinoplasty it can take up to 12 months before your final results are realized. I recommend that you make an appointment with your plastic surgeon to discuss your convalescence.
