Is it true that I cannot get my veneers redone if I have some bone loss? (Photo)

Question

I had veneers done on my two front teeth about 14 years ago. One of them has shifted leaving a gap between my teeth and I can see a spot at the top which looks like the cement possibly? I went to a dentist to have them replaced and they are telling me I have bone loss and cannot get them redone. They want me to get a 6 unit bridge which honestly is terrifying. Is is true that I cannot get them redone if I have some bone loss? I don't know if I should get a second opinion. Thank you.

While it is possible that the bridge is a better option, bone loss does NOT mean you can't replace porcelain veneers.  There may be some accepted compromise to deal with, but it may mean this dentist simply doesn't know how to replace veneers.

There could be 2 reasons for this problem. First, if you have little bone loss, you may have gingival recession. Accordingly, the place where the gum is pulled is visible and your veneer should be renewed to solve this. However, when there is a large amount of bone loss, it may be necessary to extract your tooth. In this case, you can consider an implant or a 4-member bridge. If the second reason is that your tooth may be hanging down, it is necessary to check whether your tooth is mobile and its vitality. As a solution, the veneers on your two teeth are combined and reconstructed. You don't need 6 of them. Clinical examination and Xray image is essential to make a definitive decision.
