A week downtime? Does that mean stay home? Can't go to work? Or does it mean stay out of sun?

Hello, There are different types of chemical peels and the down time can be different. A peel with 1 week down time is usually by day 2 you start peeling, then continue to peel for the next 3-4 days, healed in a total of 7 days. You do not have to stay home and you can go back to work if you do not mind the peeling. You do want to keep your skin protected from sun using sunscreen and preferably a hat, do avoid outdoor activities and follow the orders of your provider. Hope this helps!

It depends on what procedure that you are having. A lot of time, it references how long until you are completely healed. This doesn't mean you can't go out of the house at all. Depending on the procedure there are different post-procedure directions you need to follow. It would be best to discuss this with your treating physician because this can be dependent on a lot of factors.
