Visceral fat cannot be removed surgically

Visceral fat is the fat around your internal abdominal organs. It cannot be removed surgically. The only way to get rid of it is to loose weight. A high fat diet is usually the culprit that causes visceral fat.

Visceral fat is that fat that exists with your abdomen surrounding your organs or viscera, hence the name. Weight loss is the only way to lose this fat. Good luck!

What is visceral fat and can you get rid of it?

Visceral fat is the fat around your organs, inside the abdominal compartment.  This fat is not addressed during liposuction or abdominoplasty.  Visceral fat may contribute to upper abdominal fullness or bulging and would diminish the aesthetic result after a tummy tuck.  The best way to treat this is with diet and exercise.  Good luck.

Visceral fat - how to get rid of it.

Thank you for asking about your visceral fat.

  • Visceral fat is the fat that our body deposits around our internal organs -
  • e.g. the stomach, liver, spleen, intestines.
  • Weight loss is the only way to get rid of it.
  • And getting rid of it is a good idea - research shows that the fat deposits in the liver are toxic to our bodies.
  • From a cosmetic point of view, visceral fat is the reason that obese women often don't get a good result from a tummy tuck - the visceral fat is what keeps their shape bulging.
  • Always consult a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.
Hope you find this information helpful. Best wishes.

Visceral fat is unavailable to liposuction.

Fat within the abdominal cavity is not available to liposuction. It exists within the mesentery of the bowel in the omentum. Weight loss is the only solution to volume reduction in this area.

What is visceral fat?

Thank you for your question.  Visceral, organ, or intra-abdominal fat refers to the fat that exists below the abdominal muscles that surrounds ones internal organs and intestines.  The only way to get rid of this visceral fat is with diet and exercise.

Visceral fat

Visceral fat is the adipose tissue within and around the organs of the abdominal cavity.  Diet, exercise, and sometimes physician directed medical diet programs can address this fat.  Good Luck.

Liposuction

Visceral fat is the fat that is below the abdominal muscles and surrounds the internal organs.  This fat cannot be removed surgically or with liposuction.  Diet and exercise is the only way to remove visceral fat.
