My PRK was cancelled due to large pupils. At what pupil size in dark light does a physician deem someone not a candidate?

Upon my initial evaluation and testing my pupils where 5.5-6.7mm then on the day of surgery they were 7.3-7.4mm. My physician cancelled my procedure stating he felt due to my atypical astigmatism that I would have a 50/50 chance of having night vision problems. I had lasik in my right eye only 12 years ago with no problems. I'm so confused. I got a second opinion three days later and my pupils were 6.5mm and that doctor stated pupil size really isn't an issue today with newer technologies. Help?
