types of Juvederm
Voluma - thicker, more linked for adding volume to the cheeks. Lasts up to 2 years.
Juvederm Ultra the smoothest for lips and finer lines
Juvederm Ultra Plus more linked than Ultra for deeper lines.
XC means Lidocaine, a numbing agent is added to the same syringe.
There are three types of Juvederm which include Juvederm Ultra, Juvederm Ultra Plus and Juvederm Voluma. These are smooth hyaluronic acid skin fillers that can be used to reduce wrinkles and indentations. Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of the human body that acts like a sponge to slightly expand soft tissue. Juvederm Ultra works nicely to fill fine lines, Juvederm Ultra fills mild to moderate folds and Voluma has a great lifting capacity that works great in the cheeks and malar area which tend to sag as we get older. It is important to make an appointment with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to determine which product would be best for you. Good Luck!
Different types of Juvederm
There are 3 basic Juvederms, Ultra, Ultra Plus and Voluma. These are further divided into those with and without Xylocaine, a numbing agent. Each product has a different use. See an Expert Injector who can determine what product is right for what you wish to do. Are there different brands and grades of Juvederm?
Dear Sassy fierce, The answer is yes. In the United Staes at this time we have three types of Juvederm products and each is designed for different types of problems. Voluma is made for adding volume especially in the cheek area, Ultra is is the thinnest and works well with superficial complaints, and then the Ultra Plus is cross linked differently for thicker more extreme folds and wrinkles. All of these are made from the hyaluronic acid family and can all be dissolved via hyaluronidase if needed. Best regards, Michael V. Elam, M.D.
Right now in the United States we have Juvederm ultra, ultra plus, and Voluma. Another company has restylane, restylane silk, and restylane lift.
Different Juvederm products
There is a large variety of fillers available in the market for facial contouring and enhancing. The options can be confusing, make sure you ask your injector to decide what is the best for your goals.
The Juvederm family in the US has 3 different products:
1) Ultra - thiner, designed for superficial injections, lasts average of 9 months
2) Ultra Plus - thicker, designed for deeper injections, lasts 12 months
3) Voluma - thickest, designed for cheek augmentation (placed deepest right on top of bone), lasts 2 years
Hope this helps
Juvederm Ultra, Ultra Plus, and Voluma
The Juvederm family of fillers offers the flexibility to fill and rejuvenate the entire face. Currently we have three types of Juvederm in the US: Ultra, Ultra Plus, and Voluma. They all consist of hyaluronic acid. Ultra is the thinnest and works well for more superficial lines and wrinkles. Ultra Plus is thicker and more robust for deeper folds. Voluma is the thickest of the three and is designed for volumizing and lifting, especially in the cheeks. The cost for Ultra Plus is typically higher than for Ultra and the cost of Voluma is higher than the other two. Voluma has been shown to last for up to two years when used for cheek augmentation.
