Does Coolsculpting Both Contour and Tighten Skin?

I am interested in coolsculpting, as I have that stubborn back fat Ro bra bulge. Does this procedure tighten skin? Have there been good results with this technique? Also is there any kind of laser/ ultra light within the suction piece?

After CoolSculpting, the skin accommodates to its new position, as the fatty tissue is gradually removed.

After CoolSculpting treatment is done, the removal of the dead fat cells by the immune system takes place slowly and safely. This slow removal allows for the skin that overlies the fatty tissue to accommodate to the loss of fat, and typically appears firm and healthy over the area of reduced fat. I, however, would not call CoolSculpting a skin tightening procedure, but rather a process where fat reduction takes place noninvasively and in a gradual manner, allowing the skin to 'coil' back and reposition itself as the excess underlying fat is lost. For example, we have had a significant number of slightly pendulous fatty abdomens treated, where three months after CoolSculpting we can see the abdomen 'lift' up as the skin and other surrounding tissues had time to gradually accommodate to the loss of fat.

Coolsculpting reduces fat and sometimes skin may retract

In some patients, I have seen skin tightening along with their fat loss from CoolSculpting. This makes sense, although it has not been reported, and it is not an FDA indication for CoolSculpting. It is not difficult to imagine that the dermal collagen will respond to the inflammatory trauma of the freezing of the fat. Although the skin doesn't freeze, the exposure it has to the cold temperature may induce an inflammatory response which can stimulate more collagen production, and this in turn, might tighten some skin. This needs to be scientifically investigated.

CoolSculpting For Contouring and Tightening?

{{ voteCount >= 0 ? '+' + (voteCount + 1) : (voteCount + 1) }}
CoolSculpting works best to reduce fat. It does not have any feature that works to tighten skin. Skin can sometimes retract somewhat after fat removal, but this treatment is meant to focus mainly on just fat reduction. It is always best to have a consultation in person to see if you are a candidate for the treatment and determine what your outcome may be in terms of excess/loose skin.

CoolSculpting is Best for Eliminating Fat

CoolSculpting is a great procedure for patients who want to eliminate small pockets of stubborn, unwanted fat that don't respond to diet and exercise. Stubborn back fat associated with bra bulge is a really ideal area of treatment and we've seen great results. However, CoolSculpting is not a procedure that's used to tighten the skin. While there are other procedures that are capable of improving sagging skin, it might be best to see the full results of CoolSculpting in order to understand what will be necessary to achieve the result you want. You should consult with a highly experienced CoolSculpting expert who will evaluate you in person as they can give you a more accurate picture of what's right for you. It's also important to ensure that you are a good candidate for this procedure.

Naturally your body will want to retract the skin as the fat gradually reduces during the three or more months following CoolSculpting treatment.  This is the same effect that happens when fat is reduced through diet and exercise. A trusted and experienced provider will assess the patient before treatment to determine if skin laxity is already an issue in that area and determine if CoolSculpting is the right method of treatment.

At my practice in Raleigh, NC we offer our CoolSculpting patients special pricing on laser skin tightening in the area that was treated with the CoolSculpting procedure. Laser Skin Tightening is a series of laser treatments, using the Candela GentleYAG laser, designed to stimulate dermal collagen production and regeneration of damaged skin cells. The single-wavelength light energy produced by the GentleYAG targets fibroblasts in the dermis, which produce new collagen in response to laser energy. Increased turnover of skin cells is also stimulated, helping to regenerate and replace damaged cells.

It is important to find an experienced medical facility in your area that provides CoolSculpting.  My practice is the top provider in our region and because of this status, we offer our patients buy one get one free instant rebates.  When our patient purchases one area at full price, they will receive an instant rebate for another area free.  CoolSculpting Complete is a treatment plan in our office that includes dual CoolSculpting machines, a compression garment for comfort and to help with swelling, and vibrational therapy to assist the lymphatic elimination of fat cells.

Skin Tightening with CoolSculpting

CoolSculpting® is FDA cleared for fat reduction, but I have noticed that some patients do have slight skin tightening as well. The best patients for treatment are also the best candidates for liposuction. For the right candidate and the right areas on the body, results can be excellent! There are other lasers and ultrasound techniques to tighten skin, but they will not provide the same results as surgery.

I have used it very successfully for the bra bulge, with no loose or redundant skin left after treatment.  Since the treatment typically only achieves a 20-30% reduction in the treated area, there is typically enough left behind so that the skin doesn't lose underlying adherence and becomes saggy.  There is no laser or light source associated with the device.

CoolSculpting is a revolutionary fat reduction procedure that is non-invasive, and requires no dieting and no exercise. This FDA cleared treatment is a state of the art method of ridding the body of resistant fat that diet and exercise have failed to remove. It is fantastic for stubborn muffin tops, thigh bulges, spare tires, and stubborn back fat. CoolSculpt was developed by Harvard Scientists and is a clinically proven procedure with thousands of happy patients that involves freezing fat cells without damage to your skin. A Vacuum pressure is used to pull targeted areas between cooling plates that over a period of an hour cause fat cells to begin a process called cryolipolysis. This breakdown of the fat cells is complete over a period of 2 to 4 months, during and after you will see a reduction in the size of the treated areas. There are no needles, and no lasers, and you can watch TV, be on your laptop, or listen to music for the hour during the procedure. After the treatment, you can return to normal activities.
