What causes a bump on scar tissue?

I've had my spleen removed, and I've had the scar for about 8-9 years right on the middle of my stomach going straight up, at the top of the scar I noticed that there is a mediumish sized reddish bump that I've never seen before

Growth vs. Hernia underneath a surgical scar

A bump underneath a scar may be a hernia, tumor, lipoma; among many options in the differential diagnosis. An examination would be warranted with a trained plastic surgeon.
