Depends on the type of laser

In general no. This is because of the fact that the area of hair cells - called the area of the bulge, lies deep in the skin. Fractional lasers will not cause any problems. Lasers such as Q switch lasers will have too short of an energy burst to cause any damage. Hair removal laser in the 755, 810, 1064 wavelengths with long pulse energy or IPL can damage hair. Speak to your specialist regarding the type of laser and the settings to clarify any concerns. Dr Davin S. Lim. Brisbane. Australia.

Thanks for your query. It totally depends upon the laser you are choosing. Lasers like Co2 fractional, exilis, thermage have minimal to no problems and they do not interfere in the beard. Laser designed for hair removal do cause thinning of the beard. Hope it helps.
