My 3 months follow up scan shows that the veins are ablated, but after physical activity i feel throbbing and discomfort in my legs. Is this the sign of new veins forming? Is there anything i should do to prevent recurrence. I keep wearing my compression stocking but still worry about recurrence? Thank you

Answer: Give It Some Time Hi, Once a vein is ablated it’s gone. There are several veins that could be disfunctional, most people treat greater saphenous, that is one that leads to your groin, but we also have small saphenous behind the lower leg, and other connections. Do you know if your other veins were checked and treated?EVLT is also user dependent. Meaning there could be skip lesions and connecting vessels can be there. Also, the results are not immediate. It takes a few months for your body to “figure out” the fact that the vein is gone, so it takes a while for symptom resolution.
