I have a VP shunt that goes from the right side of my head to my stomach and I want to get gastric bypass -- is it safe?

Will the surgery be safe, I'm 4'6 and 187 lbs with a bmi of 47, I've been approved for the surgery but in the midst of the procedure she had to stop due to too much scar tissue. Should I continue with the process or give up and find alternative ways to lose weight.
