Brest reduction left me with dark spots around my scars. What caused this and is there any way to lighten them? (Photo)

This pigment is from your previous large diameter areola.  I recommend an in-office examination as well as a detailed discussion with a surgeon who you are comfortable with and who is a board-certified Plastic Surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Best wishes! Dr. Desai

Congratulations on having undergone the breast reduction surgery; it is one of the most patient pleasing operations we perform.Sometimes the pigment (on either side of the vertical scar) is residual areola skin and excision may be necessary (when enough laxity exits). Best wishes.
